Do I need a referral from a Doctor?
For private paying patients it is not essential to have a referral from a doctor, however it can be beneficial. Therefore you are still able to make an appointment to see Diana without a referral.
For Work Cover and TAC patients you need to bring a current referral from a medical practitioner if you want the consultation to be paid for by your insurance company. Patients are responsible for payment of their Workcover or TAC accounts until a valid claim number is provided to the rooms.
What do I need to bring to my appointment:
It would be beneficial if you could bring along the following items to your first consultation:
- Referral from a doctor or therapist
- Any xrays you have related to the injury you are being seen for
- Any operative notes if you have have had an operation
- Workcover or TAC claim details
Am I able to claim the account through Medicare?
If you have a chronic problem and your GP recommends that you see Diana he/she may be able to provide you with an ‘Enhanced Treatment Plan’ which will provide you with a rebate from Medicare for up to 5 consultations. There will still be an out of pocket expense for you to meet for the consultation. There are strict guidelines for the provisions of this form. You will need to speak to your GP as to whether you are eligible.
Am I able to claim the account through my private health insurance provider?
Some extras cover enables you to claim a rebate for your consultations. The level of rebate available to you will be based on the level of cover you hold with your health insurance provider. We are able to claim your rebate entitlement for you via the Healthpoint terminal at our rooms. You may still be out of pocket for a portion of your account.
Do I need to pay for my consultation at the time of my appointment?
We do require payment of the consultation at the time of the appointment. We have EFTPOS facilities available at the Clinic.
Do you see Workcover or TAC patients?
Diana is more than happy to see Workcover and TAC patients. You will need to bring the following with you to your appointment:
- Employers address and contact name and number
- Insurance company handling your Workcover claim
- Claim number and date of injury (if known)
- Referral from a Medical Practitioner
If we do not have enough information to be reimbursed by the insurer for your consultation we do expect that the account will be settled at the time of consultation by the patient.
